Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) registered nurse opportunity in a rural healthcare facility located in Jasper, Indiana. This position involves night shifts, requiring expertise in obstetric care, postpartum, and mother/baby units. The role is focused on providing high-quality maternal and neonatal care within a Level 2 hospital setting, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, ethical practice, and maternal/child health passion.
Job Details:
- Location: Jasper, Indiana
- Position: OB RN - Nights - Deaconess Memorial Medical Center (local candidates within a 40-mile radius; no out-of-state applicants)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks with an immediate start date of 08/31/2026
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Schedule: Nights, depending upon the schedule; no more than 2 weekends per 6 weeks, schedule varies upon use
- Required Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS (to be attached upon submission)
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of OB nursing experience required, including strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Charting System: EPIC/OBIX
- Skillset: Spinning Babies experience (or similar), circulating cesarean deliveries, excellent communication skills with patients, colleagues, and providers, resilience and adaptability to change
- Additional Information:
- Postpartum or Mother/Baby float within the same department may be required
- No call or callback shifts required
- Holiday rotations as needed
- Covid-19 vaccination is not mandated at this time, subject to change
- This role involves working with a team of specialized OB/GYNs, pediatric hospitalists, and anesthesia services with an 8% primary cesarean section rate and a 95% VBAC success rate.
- Scrub colors are provided by the facility (Caribbean Blue).
- Three call-ins can result in termination.
- GSA hours are not guaranteed during orientation; traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays when the unit may be closed.
- The candidate must possess an Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing.
