Description

Job Summary:
This position is for an ICU (Intensive Care Unit) RN in Spokane, Washington. The role involves caring for adult patients with multisystem failure, trauma, and complex medical conditions. The ICU is a level 3 trauma center with 18 beds, including mixed ICU units, requiring experienced registered nurses to provide high-level patient care and support to critically ill patients.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Current licensure as a registered nurse, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), 2 years of experience in an ICU setting, strong skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, medication titration, proning, hypothermia protocol knowledge, chest tubes, drains, invasive line monitoring (including A-lines, CVP).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Travel experience is strongly preferred but may be considered with relevant ICU experience.
  • Additional Information: The role involves mobilizing ventilated patients, ambulation as tolerated, supporting with patient assessments, and working with a diverse team including resource nurses, hospitalists, RT (respiratory therapists), and intensivists present throughout the day. Orientation includes general onboarding and two 12-hour shifts of on-unit training, with competency assessments. The unit supports a collaborative culture with good teamwork, and travelers are integrated into ICU workflows. Time-off requests up to 5 days are permissible (excluding holidays). The unit emphasizes professionalism in scrubs, and free parking is available.
