Description

Job Summary:
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Erie, Pennsylvania. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a specialized unit, supervising nursing support staff, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans. The RN will embrace the organizations core values, prioritizing safety and patient-centered care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shift hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certificate, valid ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification (if applicable), a minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience, certification and education as required by the role, and the ability to start on or before 08/31/2026.
  • Performs nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis for individualized care plans.
  • Provides timely and accurate patient status updates for team conferences and maintains comprehensive documentation.
  • Participates in patient rehabilitation and discharge planning from the day of admission, including patient teaching.
  • Communicates effectively with team members to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
  • Supervises and provides direction to ancillary nursing personnel, delegating appropriately and organizing workflow efficiently.
  • Maintains safety in all aspects of care, including patient handling, infection control, and environment safety.
  • Contributes to a positive work environment through teamwork and effective communication, participating in team-building activities.
  • Coordinates supplies, equipment, and clinical needs, promoting cost-effective practices.
  • May assume charge responsibility following orientation and actively pursues ongoing professional development.
