Job Summary:
Telemetry Medical Surgical Float (RN) in Centennial, Colorado. This position involves providing skilled nursing care that includes telemetry monitoring and general medical surgical patient care. Candidates must be flexible to float within several facilities in the region and work night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, with 6-9 weekend shifts expected in a 6-week schedule.
• Schedule: Leadership creates a schedule 4 to 6 weeks in advance. Travel nurses are expected to be flexible and assist with filling gaps in permanent staffing. All time off requests need to be submitted prior to starting the assignment.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse, BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS certification, minimum of 2 years of experience in telemetry medical surgical nursing.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior neuro experience is highly preferred.
• Unit Description: The float pool includes multiple units ranging from general medical-surgical to specialized areas such as Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Renal, Bariatrics, Orthopedics, Trauma, and Emergency Department observation. The team works with adult and geriatric patient populations.
• Float Policy: Floating to sister facilities within Zone 1 around Colorado Springs, CO, including several medical centers and hospitals within a 60-mile radius. The first float assignment will be communicated on or before the Monday start date.
• Responsibility and Operational Details:
  • No home base facility; clinicians must be 60 miles from each assigned facility.
  • May be asked to float into units with various acuity levels, including ICU (with low acuity holds), Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Stepdown, and Medical-Surgical Telemetry.
  • Charge nurses maintain small patient assignments and do not typically take assignments unless necessary.
  • Equipment such as Vents, Cpap, BiPAP, and other RT (Respiratory Therapy) equipment is available on units.
  • The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
  • Charting system used is EPIC.
  • No BSN is required to submit a license.
