Description
Job Summary:
The specialized Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse position is located in Spokane, Washington. This role involves providing critical patient care in a Level 3 Trauma Center with a focus on medical and surgical critical care. The position offers an opportunity to work with diverse patient types and support a team-based ICU environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts with 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, working every other weekend rotation.
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications; 0 or more years of experience in the ICU; WA state licensure or compact state license; strong cardiac rhythm interpretation, medication titration, proning, hypothermia protocol knowledge, chest tubes, drains, invasive line monitoring (arterial lines, CVP).
- Preferred Qualifications: Travel experience preferred but may be flexible with ICU experience.
- Additional Information: Position requires supporting mobility, vented patient mobilization, ambulation, and assist with patient transport. Orientation involves general onboarding and unit-specific training, including ICU competency certification prior to start. The unit includes a diverse team of healthcare professionals, such as a free-floating charge nurse, rapid response nurse, resource nurse, and 24/7 hospitalist and respiratory therapy support. The work environment fosters good teamwork and integration of travel nurses into the ICU team.
