Description

Job Summary:
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) registered nurse position in Lynchburg, Virginia. This role involves working with a diverse patient population, including medical-surgical, telemetry, cardiac ICU acuity level patients, neuro, and cerebrovascular accident (CVA) cases. The position requires active VA or Compact license upon start and offers orientation every other Monday, with a focus on supporting students and new hires within a teaching environment.

Job Details:

  • Location: Lynchburg, VA
  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Active VA or Compact license upon start, 2+ years of work history including explanations for all work gaps over 90 days, skills checklist, copy of Nursys/license, and prior charge experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cerner electronic medical records system, prior charge nurse responsibility, and previous travel experience.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information:
    • Orientation occurs every other Monday, unless otherwise posted.
    • Position involves working with students and new hires, contributing to team support.
    • Client can cancel up to 36 hours prior to an assignment due to census changes.
    • Types of patient diagnoses include medical-surgical, telemetry, cardiac ICU level acuity, neuro, and CVA patients.
    • Limited RTO (Request to Offer) options available, with some weekend-only requests considered.
    • The unit follows a typical 2-3 weekends per month schedule, but this is subject to operational needs.
    • The role is based at a teaching hospital environment.
