Job Summary:
The medical surgical telemetry registered nurse (RN) position is located in Prescott Valley, Arizona. This role involves caring for a unit with 30 beds dedicated to medical-surgical and telemetry patients. The RN will be responsible for interpreting telemetry data, managing a variety of patient diagnoses, and ensuring high-quality patient care within a fast-paced acute setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Shifts are from 07:00 AM to 07:00 PM or 07:30 AM to 07:30 AM, including rotating weekends.
• Required Qualifications: Valid registered nursing license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, minimum of 2 years' experience as a registered nurse, experience in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing, and ability to interpret telemetry strips. Must have completed a dysrhythmia exam upon hire.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for total hip and knee replacements, small bowel resections, hysterectomy, exploratory laparotomy, MRSA, C-diff infections, mental health crises, substance withdrawal, COPD, pneumonia, COVID, and managing stable C-Pap or Bi-Pap patients.
• Additional Information: The unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6, with nurse aides managing 10-15 patients each. RNs must be willing to float into the multi-care unit and pediatric unit to care for adult medical-surgical telemetry patients. The care environment involves reading telemetry strips, managing stable ventilated patients, and providing primary care for a diverse patient population.
• Floating: Float into the multi-care unit and pediatric unit; float to West Campus Medical Surgical Telemetry.
• Dress Code: Any scrub color except camouflage.
• Orientation: Attend hospital and unit orientation based on experience, with a willingness to precept nursing students.
• Shift & Scheduling: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, with holiday rotation to ensure fair distribution.
• Additional Requirements: Must work from 12/24 to 12/26. CM certification, license submission, and compliance with cancellation policies are required.
