Description

Job Summary:
This Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing position is located in Kansas City. The role involves providing care for adult patients in a mixed acuity environment, including units such as ICU and PCU, with a focus on patient-centric treatment and adherence to clinical standards. The unit values teamwork, professionalism, and emergency preparedness, making it an engaging environment for skilled healthcare professionals.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NIH (preferred but not required). Experience with ICU or PCU level of care. BURN experience preferred but not required. NIH Certification, hemodynamic monitoring skills, and proficiency in cardiac rhythm management are essential.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Burn experience, ABLS certification, and advanced hemodynamic training are encouraged.
  • Responsibilities: Perform procedures including debridement, dressing changes, line insertions, chest tube insertions and maintenance, and post-operative care. Maintain documentation using Meditech system and uphold hospital policies and procedures.
  • Additional Information: The unit is equipped with advanced technology such as Alaris IV Pumps, Hill-Rom beds, and GE cardiac monitoring equipment. The environment fosters multidisciplinary collaboration with burn surgeons, nurse practitioners, intensivists, and other specialists. The team utilizes innovative communication tools like mobile phones and AirStrip for cardiac rhythms and maintains a family-like atmosphere with a high level of staff experience and dedication.
