Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) nurse at a medical center in Kansas City, Missouri. This role involves providing acute patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. The position offers a guaranteed minimum of 48 hours per week, with shift times during nights, and is suitable for professionals committed to delivering patient-centered care with attention to detail.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; at least 2 years of recent ER experience; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or de-escalation course; must be able to float to Brookside Emergency Department
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with prioritizing and time management; successful completion of CPI training; team player with strong attention to detail and positive attitude
• Float: Float rotation may be required
• Additional Information:
  • Unit includes 38 beds segmented into three main areas: Rapid, Main, and POD 3 (psych safe area)
  • Staff includes 7 registered nurses (RNs) during day shifts, 7 during night shifts, and 5 mid-shift RNs
  • Equipment used includes ventilators, BiPAP, EKG, arterial lines, Belmont, and chest tubes
  • Procedures routinely performed include port placements and chest tube insertions
  • Unit operates under specific policies and guidelines, including weekend and holiday shift requirements
  • Typical start date: 09/21/2026
  • End date: 12/21/2026
