Description
Job Summary:
The Telemetry Nurse position is located in Saint Louis, Missouri. This role involves providing specialized care within the telemetry unit of a short-term acute care facility. The position starts approximately three to four weeks from the date of posting and offers a dynamic clinical environment focused on adult patients with cardiac and pulmonary diagnoses.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in ACLS and BLS; at least 2 years of experience in telemetry or step-down units; current license in Missouri or matching compact state; ability to float within scope to meet facility needs; willing to work every other weekend; experience with cardiac telemetry, managing ports, blood product administration, and interpreting dysrhythmias; compliance with hospital and state licensing requirements.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC charting system, cardiac drips, and telemetry monitoring.

- Open to local candidates: No, within a 75-mile radius is not accepted.
- Pending License accepted: Yes.
- RTO Restrictions: No more than 7 days of request to leave (RTO) per 13-week contract; RTO must be finalized at submission.
- Special Requirements: Telemetry and step-down experience required; Relias EKG test completion required.
- Unit Details:
- Daily census: 32 patients
- Patient diagnoses include arrhythmias, acute coronary syndrome, pulmonary hypertension, and post-cardiac procedures
- Procedures include cardiac catheterization, pacemaker and ICD placement, echocardiograms, stress testing, and more.
- Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services.
- Scheduling & Staffing:
- Patient ratios: 4 patients during days and nights, 4 on weekends
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend.
- Tenure policy: 18 months with a 3-month break.
- Travel experience required and floating within the service line.
