Description

Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU CV) nurse position located in North Charleston, SC. This role involves providing specialized critical care to adult patients with cardiac and neurovascular conditions in a mixed ICU setting. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing patients on ventilators, performing advanced hemodynamic assessments, and assisting in neuro procedures such as aneurysm repair and induced hypothermia. The position requires adherence to hospital policies and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with every other weekend required.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications; 36 months of RN experience including at least 1 year in an ICU setting; prior experience in a facility using Meditech electronic documentation system; proficiency in telemetry reading, ventilator management, and critical hemodynamics; ability to care for up to 1-3 ICU patients.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Neuro ICU or CVICU experience, advanced certifications such as TNCC, experience with CRRT, advanced hemodynamics, and neuro procedures including EVDs and bolts; BSN degree preferred.
  • Additional Information: The unit utilizes mobile phones and computer workstations for documentation. Bedside shift reports are standard, and floating policies require travelers to float to emergency departments or PCU as needed. The team offers training opportunities for staff interested in advancing in neuro and cardiovascular critical care specializations, including patient care for head and neck flap procedures. The unit has a dedicated team with extensive experience and uses innovative technology to enhance patient care.
