Description
Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse (RN) position in a healthcare facility. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care by following established nursing care plans, supervising ancillary nursing personnel, and engaging in patient assessment and education. The position is scheduled for the night shift, with the potential for ongoing coordination within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification prior to first shift; minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience in a healthcare setting; relevant licensing and certification based on state and federal regulations
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a progressive care or telemetry unit; additional specialty certifications such as ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) are a plus
- Additional Information: Performs comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, develops individualized care plans, and participates in patient rehabilitation programs. Responsible for accurate documentation, discharge planning and patient education, and maintaining communication with the interdisciplinary team. The RN provides supervision to ancillary staff, delegates tasks appropriately, and actively participates in team building to foster a positive work environment. The RN may assume charge nurse responsibilities following orientation and is committed to ongoing professional development.
