Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) nurse position in an acute care facility. This role involves providing specialized perioperative care across various service lines, excluding cardiovascular procedures. The candidate will work in a Level I trauma center with a diverse case mix, including general surgery, trauma, neurology, orthopedics, plastics, and transplant surgeries. The position requires adherence to strict clinical protocols and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, days, with at least 48 hours minimum per week.
• Required Qualifications: Minimum of 0 years of experience; active Illinois nursing license or in application process; BLS certification required; CNOR certification preferred; open to candidates with Level I trauma experience, general surgery, neurology, orthopedics, plastics, transplant, and trauma case skills.
• Preferred Qualifications: Cerner charting system experience, experience with laparoscopic assisted cases, and knowledge in advanced surgical procedures, equipment, and instrumentation.
• Float: Rarely required to float within scope to meet facility needs.
• On-Call: Yes, approximately 1/week, though frequency may vary.
• Position Duration: Open to 13-26 weeks; start date 09/14/2026 and end date 12/14/2026.
• Responsibilities: Managing all service lines except cardiovascular, handling laparoscopic assisted cases, trauma, and transplant procedures, administering blood products, ensuring infection control and radiation safety, and adhering to universal protocol procedures.
• Additional Requirements: Must have active Illinois license or be in application process; compliance with hospital's RTO restrictions; completion of required modules and orientation; must confirm availability for scheduled interview windows and holiday work.
