Description
Job Summary:
Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) General Surgery Location unspecified. This role involves providing scrubbing and circulating duties for operative procedures in a hospital operating room. The nurse will prepare the surgical environment, assemble and ensure functionality of equipment and supplies, and serve as a communication liaison with patients, families, and the operating team. The position offers a dynamic environment supporting various surgical specialties.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Call responsibilities include 5 shifts on a Monday through Friday basis (5:00 PM 6:30 AM) over a 6-week period, along with 3 weekend day shifts (Saturday or Sunday 24-hour shifts) in the same period.
- Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state/district; minimum of 2 years of experience in the Operating Room with various specialties; graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program; BSN highly desired.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the Operating Room with multiple specialties.
- Additional Information: The operating room nurse is responsible for adhering to standards and aseptic techniques, assessing and planning intraoperative patient care, and ensuring all equipment and supplies are ready for surgical procedures.
