Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Open Heart Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a Level 1 Trauma Center in a hospital that serves as a teach hospital and has Magnet designation. This role involves providing specialized surgical nursing care for patients undergoing open heart, robotics, vascular, and thoracic cases. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced cardiac surgical environment.

Job Details:

• Location: Libertyville, IL
• Experience: 2 years of relevant clinical experience required; first-time traveler with 2 years experience welcome
• Patient Types: Cardiovascular, cardiac, vascular, thoracic, Level 1 Trauma patients
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Certifications: RN-BLS required, ACLS preferred
• Skills Required: Open heart, robotics, vascular, thoracic cases; hybrid operating room experience preferred
• Support on the Unit: Charge nurse (without patient assignment usually), transport team, anesthesia (CRNA), radiology, OR leadership
• Charting System/Equipment: EPIC experience required, Alaris IV pump, Pyxis, Jackson table, Wilson frame, Davinci Surgical Interface
• Orientation: 1 week orientation; depending on experience, up to 1 week on the unit; no hospital orientation provided
• Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Floating: None required
• Additional Information: No hospital orientation; orientation dependent on experience; 12 days of call per month; no approved time off unless sent to Tiffany Daniel; working during scheduled holidays if applicable; scrub color provided; parking free
