Job Summary
Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Psych/Behavioral Health is needed for an acute adult psychiatric unit located in Springfield. This position involves providing direct patient care in a 32- to 36-bed facility with a focus on adult acute psychiatric patients. The assignment is designed to offer a comprehensive, team-oriented work environment over a 13-week period.

• Location: Springfield, MO
• Shift: Days, 0700-1900, with a 12-hour shift schedule
• Schedule: Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 09/08/2026
• End Date: 12/08/2026
• Number of Openings: 1
• Required Qualifications: Current RN license eligible in Missouri or licensed in Missouri; BLS from AHA; 1 year inpatient Psych/Behavioral Health experience; no float requirements but flexibility to work as a tech or sitter if needed.
• Preferred Qualifications: Crisis training of some type
• Additional Information: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care for adult acute psychiatric patients, maintaining patient rights and confidentiality, coordinating with other departments, and adhering to hospital and departmental standards. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., and high risk exposure to blood and body fluids. The unit focuses on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, with a team-oriented approach.
• Dress Code: Black scrubs or Mercy approved T-shirts; avoid unacceptable attire such as holes in shoes.
• Site Requirements: Flu vaccination from November 1 to April 1 is mandated; declinations are not accepted.
