Description
Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Trauma (ICU Trauma) nurse opportunity in Richmond, VA. This position involves providing specialized care to critically ill trauma patients within a 20-bed unit. The role requires collaboration with a highly experienced team to deliver exceptional patient care, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and unit policies.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid ACLS certification; experience in an intensive care or trauma setting; current license to practice as a registered nurse; willing to work every other weekend, holiday, or on a hard-to-fill schedule; can start immediately or within a flexible timeframe.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac drips, BIPAP/CPAP/high-flow oxygen therapy, sepsis management, post-catheterization care, chest tubes, and familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
- Float: Float to other step-down units or medical-surgical units may be required.
- Additional Information: The unit is equipped with ZOLL, Baxter pumps, GE telemetry monitors, Hillrom beds, and other advanced equipment. The team practices bedside report, mandatory shift huddles, and prompt shift start times. Staff exhibit a wide range of experience levels, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, accountability, and a proven track record of low turnover. The unit offers a collaborative environment with cutting-edge technology and a focus on professional growth.
