Job Summary
The Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU CV) specialty position is located at a prominent healthcare facility. This role involves providing comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients requiring advanced cardiovascular and thoracic surgical interventions, including heart and lung transplants, CABG, valve repair/replacement, and management of various cardiac and respiratory conditions. The position demands skilled, adaptable nursing professionals capable of managing a wide range of acuity levels in a dynamic ICU environment.
Job Details
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 09/28/2026 and ending 12/28/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Wisconsin or compact registered nurse (RN) license, ACLS and BLS certifications, at least 2 years of recent acute care experience, including CVICU, telemetry testing clearance, and experience with advanced cardiovascular equipment such as CVVH, Impella, IABP, ECMO, and continuous IV sedation/neuromuscular blockade.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiothoracic surgery patients, Post Cardiac Surgery care, and familiarity with Epic charting system and Inpatient RN experience in high-acuity settings.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, WI or compact RN license required.
- Skills: Managing arterial lines, chest tubes, blood products, ventilators, CVP, CVVH, Impella device, IABP, ECMO, and specialized cardiac rhythm interpretation, among others listed in the detailed qualifications.
- Additional Information: The role involves responding to emergent procedures, supporting interdisciplinary teams, and providing specialized ICU care for complex cardiac and thoracic cases. Travel will be required, and the candidate must pass strict telemetry and cardiac rhythm identification exams prior to assignment start.
