Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) in a hospital setting. This role involves providing specialized obstetric care for neonatal and adult patients during night shifts. The position offers flexible scheduling options and a focus on both routine and high-risk obstetric procedures, supporting a dynamic clinical environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications include ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP (pending certs acceptable); with a minimum of 3 years of experience in labor and delivery and patient care related to antepartum, high-risk delivery, labor support, C-section circulation, fetal monitoring, and more
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high risk delivery assistance, sterile vaginal exams, use of External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM), and working with neonatal and adult patient age groups
- Patient Ratios: 2 per shift during days and nights, with 2 on weekends
- Additional Information: The position involves caring for neonates and adults in a facility with a daily census that supports approximately 100-200 births per month. The role includes performing advanced obstetric procedures, maintaining central lines (CVC / PICC), and collaborating with interdisciplinary support teams such as respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services. Travelers are expected to float within their scope as needed, receive brief unit orientations, and complete onsite modules during orientation.
