Description

Job Summary:
Step Down Unit Nursing position in a healthcare facility located in Colorado Springs. This role involves providing specialized patient care within a compassionate and fast-paced environment. The qualified candidate will deliver exceptional nursing services across various acuity levels, supporting adult and geriatrics populations with a focus on cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Days, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: 2+ years of Step Down (Post-Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience; LTC certificate or relevant nursing license; location must be within 60 miles of Colorado Springs; ability to work days; experience with cardiac drips, insulin, and ativan; Epic electronic health record experience preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neuro patients and prior utilization of Epic EHR system.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required, including coverage within Zone 1 (around Colorado Springs), with the ability to float into any acuity level, including ICU (with low acuity holds), progressive care, and telemetry units.
  • Additional Information: Orientation includes 1-2 days with a preceptor; shifts are scheduled 4 to 6 weeks in advance; the role may include weekend shifts (6-9 shifts in a 6-week schedule); occasional holiday or call requirements are possible; transportation within zone required, with the requirement to obtain housing that makes zone coverage feasible.

  • Other: No home facility designated; must submit a two-week notice to avoid backout penalties; no charting system specified, but experience with electronic health records is expected.
