Description

Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) nurse opportunity in a regional healthcare facility. The role involves providing high-quality care in a busy emergency setting, with responsibilities including patient assessment, treatment, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams during night shifts. Candidates must be adaptable to float within multiple ER locations within the zone.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 09/14/2026 to 12/14/2026
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS, PALS (American Heart Association); 2 years of experience in Emergency Room nursing; must hold a valid license to submit; location requirements include the ability to float within Zone 1, which covers multiple ER locations around Colorado Springs, CO, within a 60-mile radius of each facility.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of common drips, standard ER medications, and experience with high-acuity patient care such as stroke, STEMI, trauma, and respiratory management.
  • Additional Information: The role may require initial unit-specific orientation lasting 2-3 days, with schedules released 4 to 6 weeks in advance. The position involves floating across ERs within Zone 1, including facilities in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and Canon City. The hospital operates with a Nurse:Patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity, and RT services (including Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow) are available 24/7. The ER handles an average of 40-168 patients daily, with various trauma levels, and imaging services such as X-ray or CT available for patient care.
