Job Summary
Emergency Room Holding Area RN in a hospital setting. This role involves managing adult patients in a specialized observation unit with a focus on assessment, documentation, IV management, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point of care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education. The position requires rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights, along with every-other-weekend coverage.

Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications, current RN license in the state, and at least 2 years of experience working in a similar adult emergency or observation unit across at least two different locations.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a fast-paced emergency department or observation setting, proficiency in assessment and patient education, and familiarity with electronic medical record systems such as Epic, Asap, and Clin doc.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The position involves working within a 16-bed observation unit dedicated to adult patients, with a patient census typically ranging from 10 to 16. Candidates must be able to read tele strips and demonstrate general emergency nursing skills.
