Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry nursing in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment. The position involves providing comprehensive care to acute stroke and complex telemetry patients on a 34-bed unit. The role emphasizes neurological assessments, telemetry monitoring, medication administration, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid state nursing license, current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, NIH Stroke Scale certification, and ability to interpret basic rhythm strips. No minimum years of experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neurological assessments and telemetry monitoring.
• Additional Information: The RN is expected to perform and document neurological assessments including the NIH Stroke Scale, monitor and respond to telemetry rhythms in real-time, comply with stroke core measures such as dysphagia screening, administer medications following BH (Bullhorn) standards, and coordinate care within an interdisciplinary team. The role involves managing patient admissions, discharges, and ensuring safety protocols such as falls prevention and skin integrity maintenance.
