Job Summary:
ORT (Operating Room Technician) specializing in surgical technology in a healthcare setting. This position involves supporting surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile environment, preparing and handling surgical instruments and supplies, and collaborating with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and effective care during operative procedures. The role requires hands-on assistance during surgeries, particularly in cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) cases, under established standards and procedures.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12 weeks/40 hours per week; 8-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with 2 weekday calls and every 3rd to 4th weekend calls
• Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist educational program or an approved Surgical Technology training program (including U.S. Military Training Program), NBSTSA-Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification, BLS certification, must have CVOR experience, and must be NBSTSA certified
• Preferred Qualifications: None specified
• Float: Float rotation may be required
• Additional Information: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, exposure to blood and body fluids, and working under stressful conditions. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, adaptability, and teamwork in clinical settings. Work may involve weekends and holidays depending on department needs.
