Description
Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in a healthcare organization. The RN is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, adhering to the nursing care plan, and supervising direct care staff. This role emphasizes patient safety, team collaboration, and professional development within a dynamic clinical setting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shift times, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS certification, valid ACLS certification (CIRH only), a minimum of 2 years bedside clinical experience, current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), and the ability to work in the specified location.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an ICU setting; active certifications in critical care nursing.
- Performs nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis for individualized care plans.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to identify teaching needs and goals.
- Maintains accurate, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with hospital policies.
- Participates in patient rehabilitation programs and provides direct patient care using the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating).
- Initiates discharge planning from day of admission, incorporates patient teaching, and ensures smooth transition of care.
- Facilitates effective communication regarding patient status changes among care team members, supporting continuity and safety.
- Supervises ancillary nursing personnel, providing direction, training, and delegation of tasks.
- Ensures safety and environmental protocols are followed, including safe patient handling and infection control procedures.
- Maintains open communication with management regarding supplies, equipment needs, and staff development.
- Assumes charge nurse responsibilities following orientation as requested.
- Commits to ongoing professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
- Prioritizes activities efficiently to meet patient needs and optimize staff utilization.
- Performs other duties as requested.
