Description

Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with a focus on open heart procedures is needed at a childcare hospital situated on the Anschutz Medical Campus. This position involves providing specialized critical care within a Level Three Cardiac Intensive Care Unit over a 13-week assignment, with rotating day and night shifts. The role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic pediatric environment with a focus on patient safety and clinical excellence.

Job Details:

  • Shift Hours: 12-hour rotating days and nights (6:45 AM 7:15 PM / 6:45 PM 7:15 AM).
  • Schedule: 36 hours per week.
  • Start Date: 10/20/2026.
  • End Date: 01/23/2027.
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with 6 or more years of relevant experience; active Colorado registered nurse license or multi-state compact license; certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of staff RN experience in a dedicated pediatric cardiac intensive care unit with open heart specialization; previous travel experience is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRBN) certification strongly preferred; Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) experience and teaching hospital experience are highly desirable.
  • Scheduling Requirements: Up to 75% of scheduled shifts may occur on weekends; no on-call requirement.
  • Float: Float rotation within the Childrens Hospital Colorado Anschutz Campus may be required based on unit needs or within 35 miles of the original assignment location.
  • Additional Notes: No request for time off will be approved during the first two weeks; seasonal influenza vaccination is mandatory, with medical or religious exemptions accepted; preference for candidates willing to work one winter holiday (Christmas 2026 or New Years 2027).
