Job Summary
Pre Op Registered Nurse position available in an acute care environment in Madison, WI. This role involves preparing patients for procedures, supporting recovery, and assisting with intraprocedural activities for interventional radiology and operating room radiology needs. The nurse will also support imaging modalities such as MRI, ultrasound, computed tomography, and nuclear medicine with various nursing and procedural tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in pre/post-operative care, PACU, ICU, or Imaging settings.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shift, M-F, 8-hour shifts with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Start times range from 0700 to 0800.
• Required Qualifications: RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association, with at least 2 years of experience in pre/post-operative care, PACU, ICU, or Imaging.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with adult acute care, adult outpatient care, and familiarity with imaging modalities such as MRI and CT.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • The role involves supporting a variety of procedures, including line placements, nephrostomy tubes, embolizations, biopsies, and venous sampling.
  • Responsibilities include patient preparation, intraprocedural sedation and documentation, IV placement, telemonitoring, Foley catheter placement, and medication administration.
  • Candidates must pass a telemetry test prior to start, with two attempts allowed.
  • The assignment is scheduled to run from 09/14/2026 to 12/14/2026.
  • Travel is outside a 50-mile radius; local candidates are not accepted.
  • This position is in a Magnet-recognized facility ranked as Wisconsins #1 hospital.
