Job Summary
An ICU Neurological (Intensive Care Unit Neurological) Nurse based in Madison, WI. This position involves providing specialized neurocritical care to adult patients with conditions including strokes, traumatic brain injuries, neurovascular diseases, and post-neurosurgery recovery. The role requires working in a dynamic neuroscience critical care environment, supporting both ICU and Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) patient populations, and utilizing advanced critical thinking and clinical skills.
Job Details
- Certifications & Qualifications: WI Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact RN license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support).
- Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of inpatient RN experience within the last 3 years in the specified specialty.
- Responsibilities: Support adult patients with neurovascular conditions, monitor hemodynamics, manage vasoactive drips, utilize neuro-specific equipment such as external ventricular drains and Lumbar drains, perform frequent assessments, and provide post-neurosurgery care.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Must pass telemetry interpretation testing prior to assignment start; willingness to work with ICU and IMC patient populations is required. Traveling candidates will be required to float as needed; local candidates are not accepted based on the 50-mile rule.
