Description
Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing inpatient rehabilitation services to adult patients with high acuity needs. The RN will support patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic injuries, aiming to optimize recovery and facilitate return to home. The position requires a commitment to comprehensive patient care within a fast-paced rehabilitation environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts; 36 hours per week, with the start date on 09/15/2026 and end date on 12/15/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; minimum 1+ year of nursing experience in skilled nursing or other 24/7 skilled care environment; must have a minimum of 13 weeks Epic (electronic health record system) experience; BLS certification; Wisconsin licensure preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in medical surgical or inpatient rehabilitation units related to patient acuity.
- Float: No, not currently. May be required to float to a satellite inpatient rehabilitation facility within 20 minutes in the near future.
- Additional Information: The inpatient rehab hospital functions similarly to a medical surgical unit with high acuity patient care. Nurses are expected to assist CNAs and respond to call lights to ensure patient safety. Attendance and punctuality policies are strictly enforced. Staff will adhere to scheduled breaks and shift times, with no allowed overtime unless approved by the house supervisor.
