Description

Job Summary:
This is an Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) position located at a large, teaching hospital. The role involves working in a dynamic surgical environment with a focus on cardiovascular procedures, requiring flexibility across different shifts and operational needs. The candidate must be adaptable to the facility's scheduling and operational protocols to support complex cardiac surgeries.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating day and evening shifts, with 10 hours per shift and a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications include American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); at least 2 years of operating room (OR) experience; prior travel experience; large, teaching hospital experience; recent Level 1 trauma experience within the last year; at least 1 year of work experience in relevant setting; CV Technicians must have experience in single scrub capacity in cardiovascular (CT) cases.
  • Preferred Qualifications: CNOR certification.
  • Additional Information:
    • Floating is not required but call as needed and working weekends are expected.
    • Candidates must work 2 out of 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Years Day.
    • All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained.
    • Complete work history information (bed count, electronic medical record (EMR) system, facility type, etc.) must be provided to submit application.
    • This role is scheduled Monday through Sunday with no block schedules.
    • Bi-weekly orientations are held on Mondays.
    • Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended due to limited public transportation. Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires during November through April.
