Description

Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Specialist in the Pediatric Hospital. This role involves providing specialized care for premature and high-risk neonatal patients in a Level IV NICU. The position includes managing respiratory support, tracheostomies, G-tubes, NG/OG feeds, NCPAP, UAC/UVC management, PICC lines, and medication administration, with a focus on fostering a friendly, team-oriented environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Washington State licensure. 2+ years of experience in Level III-IV Neonatal Intensive Care Units.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with respiratory support for vents, trachs (highly preferred but not required), surgical patients, and hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE).
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information: Candidates should have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Consideration for first-time travelers is possible, with travel experience strongly preferred. The NICU is part of a pediatric hospital attached to an adult hospital, with private rooms and overflow capacity for feeders and growers. Light weekend rotation responsibilities, notably every other weekend, with rare back-to-back weekends. No on-call duties. Flexibility in scrub color is permitted.
