Job Summary:
Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) The position is located in a healthcare setting where the primary responsibility involves assembling, cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and storing medical instruments and equipment. This role also includes distributing supplies to various departments, operating sterilization equipment, maintaining records, and ensuring timely delivery of sterile items to support surgical and clinical operations.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Evening shifts, 5-8 hours, Sundays through Thursdays, 1700-0130, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications & Education: High School diploma or equivalent; Certification in Central Sterile Processing (CRCST) through Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certification Boards for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD); 0+ years of related experience; ability to operate sterilization equipment and understand Universal Precautions
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in hospital or clinic operating room settings, especially in sterile processing
• Certifications & Licensure: None required beyond those listed above
• Additional Information: The role involves disassembling carts, following labeling processes, reporting missing instruments, communicating inventory status, responding to emergency cases, and providing on-the-job training. May include working overtime, floating to other departments within scope, and being placed on-call during scheduled shifts. Emphasis on record-keeping, effective communication, computer proficiency, and adaptability to fast-paced environments.
