Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor RN Location: unspecified. This role involves providing patient care on a neuro-oriented orthopedic and general medical-surgical unit. The position requires experience with orthopedic patients and proficiency with PCA pumps, within a fast-paced acute care environment.

Job Details

• Position Description: The unit notes indicate a 33-bed, all private room orthopedic/neuro-medical-surgical unit with patient ratios of 1 to 6. Common diagnoses include elective surgeries such as hips, knees, shoulders, fractures from falls, neuro surgeries, and general MedSurg patients.
• Certifications and Skills: Required certifications include BLS (American Heart Association). Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience, licensure to submit, and a current drivers license.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts; days (7:00 AM 7:30 PM) and nights (7:00 PM 7:30 AM) with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Weekend work is every other week, with specific shift scheduling based on unit needs. Holiday work may be required, depending on staffing.
• Additional Responsibilities: Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system, EPIC orientation plus on-floor preceptorship, and floating to MedSurg and Telemetry units may be required.
• Additional Information: RN staff are supported by a charge nurse 24/7, patient care techs (usually 3-4), RT equipment management, and remote tele monitoring. The unit maintains a strict dress code with royal blue scrubs/Jackets.
