Description

Job Summary
Operating Room Open Heart RN position is located at the healthcare provider's facility. This role involves providing specialized perioperative care to patients undergoing cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures in a Level I trauma center setting.

Job Details

  • Position/Specialty: Operating Room (OR) Open Heart RN Cardiac and Thoracic Surgical Procedures.
  • Shift: 5x8 Days (6:15 AM 2:45 PM).
  • Schedule: 8 hours per shift, 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license or in application process; BLS certification required; ACLS preferred; Minimum 0 years of experience (preferably 3 years of solid OR, trauma, or vascular experience), high trauma or cardiovascular surgery experience preferred; preferably no more than 5 days of site-specific RTO restrictions.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery including procedures such as Aortic Aneurysm repair, CABG, Valve replacements, ECMO, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, Vascular repairs, Laparoscopic assisted cases, and Endoscopic procedures like Bronchoscopy and EGD.
  • Additional Requirements: Recent experience in Level I trauma center, OR scrub experience, and familiarity with Cerner or similar charting systems.
  • Clinical Responsibilities: Providing care in CVOR, General OR, vascular, thoracic, and endoscopic procedures; ensuring laser safety and specimen handling; adhering to universal protocol.
  • Travel & Schedule Details: On-call 1-2 nights weekly and every 5th weekend; scheduled to start on 09/14/2026 and end on 12/14/2026.
  • Submission Requirements: Ensure Illinois license is active, submit SSN and DOB, confirm availability for interviews, and review compliance requirements including module completion within designated deadlines.
