Description
Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) RN Float, providing high-quality care within an acute care facility. This role involves caring for obstetric and neonatal patients, interpreting fetal strips, and floating to Medsurg and Emergency Department as needed, supporting the departments mission to deliver exceptional maternal and neonatal care.
Job Details
- Certifications Required: BLS. Preferred: ACLS, NRP, STABLE.
- Education Requirements: Nursing license valid for practice in the state.
- Experience Requirement: Minimum of 2 years' experience in labor and delivery.
- Location Requirements: Candidate must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility.
- Types of Patients: Mainly obstetric with neonates, hypertension, GDM; less than 36 weeks deliveries should be avoided.
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Duties include: reading and interpreting fetal strips, following quality metrics, managing titratable drips (Pitocin, Insulin, Magnesium), assisting with transfers, and supporting patient care activities.
- Additional Information: Floating to Medsurg and ER as needed, with a focus on critical thinking, adaptability, and communication skills. RTO notification required upfront; additional RTO will not be approved.
- Charting System: Meditech.
