Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing direct nursing care to expectant mothers and newborns before, during, and immediately after childbirth. The nurse will monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, assist with deliveries, manage pain including epidurals, and educate families on postpartum recovery.
Job Details
- Position Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Complexity of Work: Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
- Unit Description: Labor and Delivery (L&D) nurses provide critical care to expectant mothers and newborns before, during, and immediately after childbirth. They monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, manage pain (including epidurals), assist with vaginal or surgical deliveries, and educate families on postpartum recovery.
- Required Qualifications: Licensed registered nurse (RN) with Nursys license verification. Valid drivers license or state ID. Professional profile with the healthcare organization. Two professional references. 0 years of experience required.
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Start Date: 09/13/2026
- End Date: 12/12/2026
- Additional Information: Traveler will be required to work up to 6 weekend shifts and holidays as needed per department needs.
