Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse This position is located at the healthcare provider's facility. The ICU nurse will provide specialized care to critically ill patients across various high-acuity units within the hospital. The role involves utilizing EPIC electronic health record (EHR) experience and floating across multiple units to support patient needs.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice, certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association, minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, EPIC EHR experience, floating experience, and willingness to wait for license submission.
- Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: The ICU unit includes high-acuity float pool roles covering units such as Critical Care, Observation, Medical Surgical, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Short Stay Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Telemetry, and Progressive Care. Assignments are made based on acuity, with standard staffing ratios of 1-2 patients, and may include up to 3 depending on patient needs. The role requires titrating drips and reading monitors, with support staff including nurse aids and monitor technicians. Self-scheduling is available, with three weekend shifts per schedule and holiday coverage required.
