Description

Job Summary
Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) in the region's largest and most comprehensive emergency department and free-standing emergency department. This position involves working on a medical surgical floor at a facility with 48 beds, providing care to adult patients with various diagnosis and treatment needs, including high patient turnover. The role is scheduled for night shifts, with a start date of September 14, 2026, and ongoing through November 3, 2026.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Certifications: NIH (National Institutes of Health), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Education/Degrees: Must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in medical-surgical nursing
  • Location Requirements: Must be at least 60 miles or greater from the facility location
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year, with at least 1 travel assignment completed
  • Additional Information: Must be able to start IVs, insert Foley catheters, insert NG tubes. Experience performing EKGs and in heparin drips preferred. Experience with a 1:6 patient ratio, with high patient turnover, is preferred.
  • Unit Information: 48 beds, patient ratios 1:6, equipment includes electronic health records system Paragon, and the unit cares for adult patient population.
  • Dress Code: Scrubs (any color acceptable). No unacceptable attire.
  • No float requirements anticipated, but float to inpatient rehab or emergency room may occasionally be needed.
  • Submission Requirements: Candidates should be prepared to provide proof of required certifications and demonstrate experience with IV placements, Foley catheter insertions, and EKGs.
