Job Summary
Operating Room Open Heart Specialist in a designated healthcare facility. This role involves assisting with complex cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures, including preparation of the operating room and support during surgeries. The position offers a dynamic environment where specialized skills in cardiac/thoracic surgery are essential.

Job Details

• Position Description: Day and evening, 12-hour shifts, Monday through Friday variation, with weekend and call responsibilities. The role is approved at 1.2 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE).
• Required Qualifications: Certifications include BLS; additional certifications such as CST or Surgical Tech Program completion are preferred. Education requirements involve completion of a surgical technologist program or two years of experience in a Surgical Technologist role. The role requires experience with complex cardiac/thoracic surgeries, including ECMO, CABG, LVAD, lobectomy, mitral valves, VATS, and lung resection. Experience in a level 1 or similar size hospital with a high caliber of complex surgeries is preferred.
• Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Additional Information: The incumbent must be comfortable working independently as a scrub solo and possess knowledge and skills to care for patients of all age groups, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Successful completion of a cardiac interpretation review course or passing a telemetry exam is required before start.
