Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) located in an acute care setting. This role involves providing specialized critical care to patients with complex cardiovascular conditions, including trauma, stroke, and post-surgical recovery, in a fast-paced environment. The position requires highly motivated nurses capable of critical thinking and adapting to diverse patient needs.
Job Details
- Shift Time: Nights, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Qualifications: Valid nursing license, 1 year (minimum) of relevant experience, drivers license required at submittal to verify geographic eligibility
- Duties: Management of patients with conditions such as sepsis, STEMI, COVID-19, stroke, neurosurgery, renal failure, respiratory failure, COPD, cancer, DKA, and other critical diagnoses; performing titration of medications including sedation, paralytics, pressors, antihypertensives, heparin, insulin; utilizing ventilators, monitors, and telemetry technology; bedside shift reports and hourly rounding; functioning within a team that includes patient care techs and charge nurses.
- Additional information: The unit features bedside shift reporting, intentional hourly rounding, and an eICU remote monitoring system. The team is focused on providing a high level of care with a culturally diverse patient population.
