Job Summary
Emergency Room Nurse, Asheville, North Carolina This Emergency Room (ER) nursing position involves providing high-quality acute care within a high-volume, Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center. The role requires a compassionate caregiver dedicated to patient safety and comfort, supporting a busy, multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Job Details

  • Position Description: Emergency Room Nurse at a designated hospital with a 101-bed Emergency Department, serving a diverse, multicultural community. Responsibilities include delivering emergency care, triage, and stabilization for a variety of critical patients. The facility is equipped with advanced cardiac monitoring, Baxter pumps, GE monitors, and utilizes Cerner electronic documentation.
  • Required Qualifications: Up-to-date certifications including ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, and ENPC within 90 days of hire. A minimum of 2 years experience working in a Level 2 trauma center or high-volume Emergency Department, with at least 1 year in an ER setting, team-oriented mentality, and ability to adapt across all sections of the ED.
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous HCA experience, proven teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • Additional Information: The department emphasizes respectful patient interactions, with policies in place for attendance and unit-specific procedures. Staff enjoy working with new equipment, technology, and a welcoming team culture. Covering all shifts, the role requires flexibility to float within the ED as needed.
