A registered nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Care in a Heart Hospital setting. The position involves providing safe, competent patient care based on nursing research and standards, with a focus on cardiac catheterization procedures, patient education, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. The role requires a minimum of two years of cardiac catheterization laboratory experience and a BSN degree.

Job Details

  • Position Description: The Clinical Nurse delivers patient-centered care using the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care within a Heart Hospital environment. The nurse assesses patient needs, applies critical thinking, and collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and evaluate care plans, emphasizing patient education and safety.
  • Schedule: Night shifts from 12:00 AM to 12:30 PM, working 11.5-hour shifts, with a minimum of 34.5 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Active NYS RN License, BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications, minimum of 2 years of cardiology, tele, or procedural experience, and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing or current enrollment in a BSN program. Experience requirement: 0 years (minimum two years of specialized cardiac cath lab experience).
  • Additional Information: Must have at least 2 years of experience in pediatric cardiac catheterization labs. Travel experience preferred but not required for Per Diem roles. Epic electronic medical record experience highly preferred.
  • Responsibilities: Includes performing charge nurse duties, coordinating supplies, documenting care, facilitating patient throughput, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Two years of RN experience, one year of travel experience for travel positions, and experience with Epic EMR systems.
