Job Summary
Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) Pediatric Floor unspecified location. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients aged 0-18 years in a dedicated pediatric unit. The position includes the potential to float to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) when needed, supporting a close-knit, zoo-themed unit with a variety of pediatric diagnoses and patient needs.

Job Details

  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
  • Education Requirements: Valid RN license.
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of pediatric medical/surgical nursing experience, with preferred PICU experience and the ability to titrate drips (e.g., Tylenol, Keppra, Insulin).
  • Location Requirements: Unspecified location.
  • Years of Experience: 0 years (minimum requirement: 2 years).
  • Schedule: Rotate schedule with 12-hour shifts, including nights and days, totaling at least 36 hours per week.
  • Shift Hours: 12 hours per shift.
  • Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours.
  • Additional Information: This pediatric unit is a locked, specialized environment featuring themes such as an aquarium and toy store, with amenities for children's entertainment and comfort. Nurses must possess strong communication skills, independence, and the ability to work within a close-knit, multi-disciplinary team. RNs may be required to float to NICU and newborn nursery, with a flexible self-scheduling system based on seniority and unit needs. RTO (Reason to Occur) requests must be made upfront, with a maximum of 7 days off within a 13-week contract. The unit is trauma level 2 and operates within an acute care setting.
