Telemetry NursingTelecom SpecialtyLocation Not Specified. This position involves providing specialized nursing care for telemetry patients in an acute care setting. The role requires a strong cardiac telemetry background, with responsibilities including monitoring patient heart strips, titrating cardiac drips, and assisting with patient care from the emergency department awaiting hospital beds.

Job Details

  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); a minimum of 2 years of recent telemetry nursing experience within the past 6 months; valid nursing license to submit; shift schedule includes 12-hour nights shifts (7 P.M. to 7 A.M.) with at least 36 hours per week; must be able to pass a dysrhythmia exam through RELIAS within 48 hours of receiving the offer and complete a pass/fail sim lab on day one of orientation.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience caring for cardiac telemetry patients, especially those managing cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone.
  • Responsibilities: Monitor and interpret cardiac strips, titrate cardiac medications based on physician orders and parameters, assist with patient vitals and medication administration, and float to med/surg/telemetry or overflow units as needed.
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (7 P.M. 7 A.M.) with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Information: Will be caring for patients from the emergency department awaiting admission, with orientation consisting of two shifts to Med/Surg/Tele at the primary campus. This is a float position requiring flexibility to cover assigned units as needed.
  • Submission Requirements: Nurse license must be submitted, and candidates must be able to pass required exams and assessments to qualify for the role.
