Description

Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Open Heart Nurse in a healthcare facility. This position involves providing specialized cardiac surgical care within a large, academic teaching hospital setting. The role requires flexibility to meet patient care needs across various OR suites and adherence to the institution's high standards and protocols.

Job Details

  • Position Description: Assignment for 16-26 weeks. Rates are tiered based on mileage measured by direct line, not driving distance.
  • Schedule: Rotating Day/Eve shifts, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Shift hours are from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, including one or two weekly call shifts (from 7:00 PM to 7:15 AM), plus one full weekend of call every five weeks.
  • Required Qualifications: BLS certification, CNOR preferred, prior travel RN experience, SCRUB HEARTS certification, general nursing experience, at least 2 years of OR RN experience with recent cardiothoracic/open heart operative experience, experience with Epic electronic health record system from within the past 2 years, and experience working in large, academic, teaching hospitals.
  • Additional Information: IVS to OFFER. Workweek from Monday to Sunday. No block schedules. Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays. Must have reliable transportation. Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires during November through April.
  • Special Requirements: May be required to float to other OR suites (General, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, etc). If floated, circulating rather than scrubbing is expected.
