Job Summary
The organization is seeking a Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) to work in an acute care setting. This role involves providing care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions, including respiratory, neurological, and surgical cases, with a focus on ICU/intermediate level skills. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient care in a fast-paced environment on night shifts.

Job Details

• Position Description: RN providing care on a Step Down Unit with 20 beds, including private and semi-private rooms. Responsibilities include managing patients with conditions such as COPD, CHF, DM, sepsis, renal issues, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, overdoses, pneumonia, and other respiratory conditions, as well as neuro, surgical, and cardiac patients.
• Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) with active Illinois license, BLS certification; ACLS recommended. Must have ICU/Intermediate (Stepdown) experience with trach and ventilator management, including titrating drips such as Cardene, Cardizem, Amio, Dobutamine, Heparin, and vasopressors. Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, working 36 hours per week, with rotations including every other weekend and holiday requirements.
• Additional Information: Travel RNs must be comfortable floating to ICU or other units as needed; extensive ICU experience preferred for ICU floats. Unit specific orientation includes EPIC and on-the-floor training. Specific patient ratio is 3:1, with multiple patient care techs per shift.
