Job Summary
Gastroenterology Laboratory Technician in a healthcare provider setting. This role involves supporting endoscopic procedures, including ERCP and gastric sleeve, under the supervision of a registered nurse. The technician ensures the proper preparation, sterilization, and maintenance of endoscopic equipment to facilitate efficient and safe patient care.
Job Details
- Certifications: Current CPR/BLS certification required.
- Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of Endoscopy Technician experience, including assisting with advanced GI procedures such as ERCP and gastric sleeve.
- Location Requirements: Not specified.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, with 10-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, minimum of two years of Endoscopy Technician experience, familiarity with ERCP and gastric sleeve procedures, knowledge of endoscopic equipment reprocessing, infection prevention standards, and procedural support. Current CPR/BLS certification required.
- Additional Information: Responsible for preparation and sterilization of endoscopic equipment, assisting physicians during procedures, and supporting room turnover. Experience with endoscopic equipment reprocessing and infection prevention standards is necessary.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must verify prior employment with any Johns Hopkins System facilities if applicable, and adhere to rehire waiting periods if previously employed.
