Job Summary
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) nurse position is available in a healthcare facility on dayshift. The role involves providing high-quality patient care in a 30-bed COVID unit, managing general and orthopedic trauma patients, and working in a fast-paced acute care environment within a hospital's medical-surgical telemetry unit.

Job Details

• Position Description:
  Unit notes include prescreening, auto-offer based on prescreen recommendations, and requiring recent experience within the past 6 months. Candidates must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer (with a maximum of 2 attempts), and pass a simulated lab on day one of orientation, with study guides provided. Reading strips skill is essential.
• Required Qualifications:
  Current BLS and ACLS certifications, minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a telemetry or medical-surgical setting, valid license to submit, and recent pass in a dysrhythmia exam.
• Schedule:
  Dayshift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information:
  Unit offers a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio with charge nurse and unit supervisor available. The unit handles general and orthopedic trauma patients with some respiratory support, such as CPAP. Common duties include managing chest tubes, drains, wound vacs, and titrating medications like Amio and Cardizem. The position includes working four weekends per four-week period, with one major and one minor holiday. Staff must be able to read strips and have emergency certifications.

  Candidates must be prepared for a dysrhythmia exam prior to their start date, and will undergo a simulated lab on day one of orientation.
