Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) position available at a healthcare provider in a busy, high-acuity hospital setting. This role involves providing specialized care to patients with complex cardiac conditions, including heart transplants, LVAD patients, and those undergoing valve surgeries. Candidates must be adaptable to floating and flexible scheduling to meet unit needs.

Job Details

  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS; Licenses must be submitted and candidates must be willing to wait for license approval.
  • Education/Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant ICU setting; experience in high-acuity cardiovascular care required.
  • Location Requirements: Candidates must be open to working in a facility with 12-hour shifts, scheduled based on unit needs, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Days, with every other weekend requirement.
  • Responsibilities include managing high-acuity cardiac patients, titrating vasoactive drips, utilizing CVVAD devices such as LVADs, and working with hospital equipment like ventilators, Cpap, and BiPap.
  • The unit operates with a staff-to-patient ratio of 1:2, occasionally 1:1, and has a charge RN overseeing patient assignments.
  • Additional notes: The unit requires experience with devices like LVAD, CRRT/SLED, Impella, IABP, and includes a 2-3 shift orientation with preceptors.
  • Required skills include competence in managing titratable drips and familiarity with telemonitoring technology.
  • Candidates should be prepared to float as needed within their competency.
