Job Summary

Medical Surgical Floor Nurse, located in the specialty of Medical Surgical care, is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a hospital setting. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards.

Job Details

• Position Description: This role involves assessing patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs. The nurse reviews patient history, diagnostics, and laboratory data, and completes assessments and reassessments based on patient needs and organizational policies. Formulates and revises care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, ensuring individualized patient care and discharge planning. Implements care through direct patient interaction, delegation, and supervision of healthcare team members. Provides documentation in the patient record reflecting assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment. Participates in professional development activities, quality improvement, and may supervise staff and workflow as needed.

• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license in the state of practice or equivalent, BLS certification, and a minimum of 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital setting, including working within the past 12 months in a relevant specialty.

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.

• Additional Information: The role requires physical agility, effective communication, and adherence to standard precautions due to potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids. The position emphasizes clinical competencies, patient safety, and collaboration across healthcare teams.
